IHPA Central Region Celebrates Healthcare Professionals at Annual Gala (2025)
The Ismaili Health Professionals Association (IHPA) of Central Region hosted their annual IHPA Gala on May 3, 2025, at Ruchi Palace in Carrollton, Texas. The Gala celebrated the dedication, leadership, and impact of healthcare professionals within the Ismaili community and beyond. The event brought together physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, medical students, and supporters for an evening filled with inspiration, networking, and a renewed sense of purpose.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome and opening remarks by Chairman of Aga Khan Health Board for Central USA, Dr. Salman Bhai, who shared an insightful overview of IHPA’s growth and strategic direction. He emphasized the importance of collaboration across disciplines and the role IHPA plays in fostering innovation, mentorship, and service in healthcare. Following Dr. Bhai, President Council of Central USA Karim Farishta delivered a passionate and forward-looking speech that underscored the power of collective action within the Jamat.
Guests were treated to a formal dinner that created a warm and welcoming space for attendees to connect, and engage in meaningful conversations.
After dinner, IHPA Board Member for Central USA, Dr. Tamanna Mithani addressed the guests about the powerful impact of the IHPA network upon the Ismaili community they serve. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the many volunteers and contributors whose dedication makes the IHPA programs and events possible. Honorary Secretary Aga Khan Health Board Central USA Alice Popatia-Noorani delivered heartfelt remarks as a reminder that IHPA’s strength lies in the passion and commitment of its members.
Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed live comedic entertainment, along with a DJ and dancing. Guests were also gifted a metal IHPA pin to commemorate the evening.
Tables were filled with laughter, storytelling, and professional camaraderie, as longtime colleagues reconnected and new relationships were formed. The success of the Gala was a reflection of IHPA’s ongoing efforts to empower health professionals, encourage leadership, and promote the ethical and compassionate delivery of care. As the evening came to a close, attendees left feeling inspired, united, and motivated to contribute to a healthier and more equitable future.
